Hydroxide

The primary product.

Lithium hydroxide (LiOH) is the compound of choice for European battery makers. Depending on the size of the electric vehicle, an EV battery can use between 12kg and 60kg of LiOH.

If, in the future, our customers prefer lithium carbonate to lithium hydroxide, our process can easily switch to producing lithium carbonate.

Based on the original Mineral Resource Estimate (2018) we projected that the project would supply an estimated 12,000 tonnes a year to the European battery sector over the 35-year life of the project. This equates to as much as 800,000 EV batteries a year.

The revised (2024) MRE has shown a significantly larger resource, which could support materially higher annual production.
